Exploring the Hamptons: Uncovering Hidden Gems and Favorite Spots

Written by: Julia Casper

As summer approaches I wanted to share some of my favorite spots in the Hamptons! As much as I love life in the city, spending time out East is my happy place!  Below is a curated  list of some of my very favorites. From charming cafes to my favorite beaches, here are some must-visit spots for the next time you find yourself on the East End!

  1. Tutto Cafe: My daily coffee spot where I get an iced cappuccino all year long…haha!  They also have a delicious breakfast and lunch menu with the most scenic outdoor cafe to enjoy it all in!
  2. East Hampton Gardens: My absolute favorite home store in the Hamptons! Michael, the owner, has the best eye and curates the most gorgeous selection of everything you need to elevate both the indoor and outdoor parts of your home. They also have local gardening services and keep my house looking festive all year long!
  3. Springs School Tennis Courts are my favorite place to rally with my husband when we can sneak away. It  typically has availability unlike a lot of the other public courts so keep this little secret between us!
  4. Georgia Beach is where you’ll find my family most weekends! It’s our favorite beach for lounging, swimming or a sunset bonfire.
  5. Carissa’s Pantigo Road: The most delicious place to grab breakfast, pick up sandwiches for the beach or their pre-order chicken dinner on nights I don’t want to cook! Everything is so good and the baked goods are especially hard to resist! Dorie and Jord somehow leave with a monkey bread everytime we go there!
  6. Flowers by Beth is truly the most beautiful flower shop anywhere! I treat myself to flowers from their shop whenever I’m in East Hampton! Beth can also help you put together the most special tablescape combining beautiful flowers and vintage dinnerware from her shop!
  7. Round Swamp is my extended kitchen! I am constantly picking up their delicious fare for my own family and any time I entertain. Some of our favorites include the gazpacho, chicken fingers with homemade honey mustard, grilled zucchini, the Thai lemongrass chicken bowl and Lisa’s gluten-free brownies!
  8. Set Point: I recently started playing tennis again and Set Point helped me with everything from the right shoes to finding an instructor!  Whether you're in need of a new racket or a restringing service, this family owned gem has got you covered.
  9. Hamptons Bonfire Co: Enjoy a hassle-free beach bonfire experience with Hamptons Bonfire Co. You let them know the beach and they’ll take care of the rest!
  10. Dureya’s Montauk is one of my favorite places to go to dinner both with or without my kids. They don’t take reservations so be prepared to wait with a rose in hand and enjoy the view from the pier. My typical order includes oysters, Greek melon salad and the whole grilled fish with market veggies!
  11. Yacht Hampton: My favorite way to spend the afternoon is out on the water! Yacht Hampton has boats of all sizes depending on your party. My favorite route is lunch at Sunset Beach on Shelter Island!
  12. Children's Museum of the East End: CMEE is a family favorite of ours!  From art workshops, interactive exhibits to science experiments, this educational spot is always worth the trip!
  13. LongHouse Reserve: Explore the beauty of nature and art at LongHouse Reserve, a sprawling garden oasis dotted with sculptures and installations. Take a leisurely stroll along winding pathways, marvel at vibrant blooms, and let your little ones run free in the expansive grounds. My kids love to bring their polaroids here and take pictures of their favorite plants!
