Quiet Your Mind for Kids:
Inside Cameron Oaks Rogers’ New Mindfulness Journal

Mindfulness has always been at the heart of Cameron Oaks Rogers’ work, and her new Quiet Your Mind Kids Edition journal is the sweetest extension of that mission. What began as a personal set of practices has grown into a tool that families everywhere can use to create calmer, more connected moments with their little ones.
To celebrate the launch, Danrie partnered with Cameron to create the Quiet Your Mind Gift Set: a cozy, meaningful gift that pairs the kids journal with soft pajamas and creative accessories, making it easier than ever to build a comforting bedtime or quiet-time ritual.
Below, Cameron shares the inspiration behind the journal, the emotional skills she hopes it nurtures, and how families can bring mindfulness into everyday life in a way that feels playful, accessible, and special.
What originally inspired you to create the Quiet Your Mind journal for adults, and when did you realize there needed to be a version for kids?
The original idea for Quiet Your Mind & Busy Your Hands came from combining three of my mental health practices: journaling, positive affirmations, and adult coloring. I knew we needed a kid’s version when I saw my own kids, and so many of my community members’ in my DMs, grabbing mine to try and color themselves.
What is the core mission behind Quiet Your Mind, in one sentence, that you hope both adults and kids take away?
To escape the anxieties of the world, connect with yourself, quiet your mind, and begin speaking kindly to yourself.
When you sat down to create the kids version, where did you start, and what was the first non negotiable element?
I started with the practice that I was already doing with my children: gratitude. We do “three things we’re grateful for” every night and I knew I wanted to incorporate that into this product. Hence where the gratitude pages came from. Then I knew we wanted to have a coloring element so we created imagery, in collaboration with Hannah Sheridan, that highlighted all of the affirmations that my boys and I say to ourselves in the morning.
Tell us more about the elements inside the kids edition.
In the kid’s edition you’ll find 30 gratitude pages, 30 coloring affirmations (think “I am strong”, “I am brave”, “I am kind”, etc), 30 conversation prompts, 10 free coloring pages, and 30 affirmation stickers.
What are the biggest differences between the adult journal experience and the kids journal experience?
The adult experience is more focused on tapping into that connectivity with yourself through journaling, and the kid’s experience is more of a bonding moment between child and parent and an opportunity for you to begin the discussion around gratitude and some of these big emotions & feelings.
Has motherhood shifted your definition of wellness or self-care? If so, how
Definitely. For me, wellness now means patience—taking things day by day instead of rushing to results. It’s about giving myself grace, slowing down, and remembering that small, consistent steps count as self-care.
What emotional skills do you hope this journal helps kids build for life?
So many!! If I had to choose one I’d hope that it teaches kids to speak positively about themselves and to really believe it through the positive affirmations.
How do you prompt or introduce your own kids to the journal in real life, and what does that look like in your daily or weekly routine at home?
I introduced it as a fun way to keep record of what we’re grateful for and a new exciting coloring book for them to enjoy! We typically use ours after dinner and playtime once we get in our pajamas before we head to bed for storytime.
How does the Danrie Quiet Your Mind Gift Set help reinforce the ritual around this journal, and what feeling do you hope that full experience creates for a child at bedtime or quiet time?
This workbook is meant to create a cozy, warm, and loving environment, and what better way to do that than in cozy pajamas!! I love everything Danrie offers and this just felt like such an organic fit. The bundle offers everything you could need for a fun and comfortable night to connect with your child.
For parents who want to introduce mindfulness but are not sure where to begin, what do you hope this kids edition unlocks for them in their home?
I hope this gives them the tools to start! So many people message me asking “where do I begin?” when it comes to gratitude or positive affirmations or conversations around these emotions and I hope this gives them the confidence to start!
